Mark 7: 21-23
“From within people, from their hearts, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder , adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile.”
So often as addicts we want to take another person’s inventory when we haven’t taken our own inventory. It defiles us when we constantly pick out other’s faults but fail to acknowledge our own faults. This quote from the AA Big Book gives us some help in this matter:
“Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.
May God bless you and keep you – until then.”
Thank you
